1Day 1 : COCHIN
Meet the Kerala Tour Package agent at Kochi International Airport/Railway Station then you'll be transferred to your accommodation as the first part of your Kerala Tour. You can even go and explore Cochin in the afternoon. The oldest church in India, St Francis Church, 500-year-antique Portuguese Houses, Chinese fishing nets, 16th-century Synagogue, Jew Town, and Mattancherry Palace, built by the Portuguese, consist of several of India's most beautiful murals. Go shopping in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel. Here's some intriguing Kochi trivia. Is it better to go to Kochi or Cochin? If you're curious about the proper name for this location, you're correct in both contexts. The British used the colonial word "Cochin" in the early days. Kochi was the locals' moniker for the region, and it became the official title in the 1990s. The one-of-a-kind fishing nets that you would never see anywhere else are a famous sight that you cannot miss while traveling the coastline length as part of your Kerala Trip. Cheenavala, which means "Chinese nets," is the name given to these nets. These structures, which are believed to have been brought to local fishermen by Chinese traders during Kublai Khan's reign, are giant bamboo poles with nets connected to one end that dip and rise from the seas. Do take a photo in front of these, as you'll never see anything like it outside of China. The Mattancherry Palace is another fantastic stop on your Cochin sightseeing trip as part of the first leg of your Kerala Tour. The stunning structure is built in the traditional Kerala style, with plenty of wood and unique sloping roofs. In the 16th century, the Portuguese gave the King of Cochin the Mattancherry Palace as a reward. The Jewish Synagogue, located near Mattancherry Palance, is the next stop on your Kerala sightseeing tour after the palace. The beautiful Chinese tilework and lavish Belgian chandeliers dangling from the ceilings will take your breath away.
